How can I be a step-by-step millionaire if I am mediocre, poor, lazy, bored, unemployed, and kind of a servant person, and do not have a good interaction and leadership skills because I have not seen any leader in our family?
There is no path to millionaire with some of the personal qualities you describe - but they can be overcome. Letu2019s start with these:Laziness. Itu2019s easy to look at the guy in the big chair and think u201che doesnu2019t work that hardu201d. And you might be right, he doesnu2019t - anymore. But he had to work his ass off at some point to get the framework in place, so one day he wouldnu2019t have to.Servant Attitude. If you waste your time u201cdoing what other people wantu201d, then you arenu2019t the one making the decision on what should be done. Youu2019re just doing what someone else tells you to do. You will never make millions of dollars with this mindset.Poor interpersonal interaction. This too is a killer. If you arenu2019t able to network and interact with people, you wonu2019t be able to build relationships and earn their trust. You canu2019t build a sustainable business without this, or even be the guy that gets picked for promotions. Look at who gets promoted in a business setting - it isnu2019t the guy sitting in the corner with his head down who never talks to anyone.Lack of Leadership Skills. Poor leadership is the number one reason why most businesses fail. Theyu2019re started by subject matter experts, but being good at something isnu2019t enough - you have to think like an Executive, not like a laborer. You have to set goals, and be able to get the right people together to execute them. These traits will limit your income potential and keep you down. But fortunately, overcoming them isnu2019t impossible. You just have to be willing to make the effort. How to overcome lazinessThe secret to discipline is actually pretty simple, itu2019s just to remember what you want. Create a u201cbucket listu201d using your favorite spreadsheet tool and start dropping in everything you want. Small things, large things, all of it. I donu2019t just mean material things, you should include experiences too. If you want to climb Mt. Everest some day, throw that in there. Add a column for approximate cost and fill it in for each item. Sort this list by whatu2019s the easiest/least expensive to achieve, and start working toward that first thing on the list. One at a time. Having a list makes it easier to stay focused on your goals. Chances are many of the things on your list will be fairly inexpensive, so this exercise busts through laziness and gets you in the habit of working/saving toward what you want - youu2019ll build the habits working on the small things that keep you in the right mindset to start tackling the big things. How to overcome a servant attitude. When youu2019ve started doing the above, youu2019ll start to realize that when youu2019re doing what others want, you arenu2019t doing what you want. You arenu2019t able to cross anything off that list if youu2019re wasting your time. Telling people u201cno, I have shit to dou201d may feel selfish at first, and probably goes against your nature - but the thing is, you have to be a little selfish in order to reach the point where you can be selfless. This is why idealists are always broke. Idealists would make great philanthropists if they would allow themselves to become wealthy, but theyu2019ll never get there by just being idealists. You have to look at the long term picture. If youu2019re the type of person who just likes helping others, think about how many people you could help and how much more meaningful that help could be if you werenu2019t broke. You can get there if you focus on helping YOURSELF first. How to overcome poor interpersonal interaction. Ever heard the phrase u201cpractice makes perfectu201d? Go places. Do things. Remember that bucket list I told you to write down? Find people who are into the types of things on your list. If you arenu2019t ready to do this in the real-world, there are forums, facebook groups, all sorts of places to connect with people from all over the world with similar interests. Start a dialog, or jump into an existing conversation. You can learn how to interact with people and u201cmake friendsu201d virtually - and many of these groups have occasional meet-ups. After youu2019ve interacted with a few people online, go to one of those meet-ups - it will feel like hanging out with old friends, because youu2019ve already talked a lot online and you all share at least the one common interest that brought you together. Some of my best real-life friends today are people I met through a Jeep forum 12 years ago.How to overcome a lack of leadership skills. Thereu2019s only one way to become a good leader. PRACTICE. Remember how I mentioned engaging with people via online groups and eventually going to meet-ups? After youu2019ve done this a few times, youu2019ll start to see how their events are organized. When youu2019re ready, organize one of your own. I used to do this with the Jeep groups too - Iu2019d pick a date and location, then make a post on the forum to gauge interest. Once a couple of people were interested, I came up with a list of jobs - bringing food, grilling, bringing drinks, trash bags, etc. Who was going to go in first and set up tables? Who was going to run the easy trails with the kids so the adults could play on the more aggressive ones? Who was going to make sure any trash was properly discarded when we were done? That sort of thing - really basic stuff. These types of things wonu2019t prepare you for running a million dollar business, but what it will do is get you used to organizing, planning, and assigning roles. Itu2019s a friendly parlay into building basic management skills.Notice the order of these steps.See how each one builds on the last? This is how wealth is generated too. Through baby steps. Through setting goals and a forward-thinking mindset, through being able to relate to and inspire people, to learning how to lead them.No one can tell you how to become a millionaire - anyone who says they can is lying (and probably trying to sell you an e-book).But if you can start working on the things I just told you in your personal life, youu2019ll get from where you are right now to the type of person with the personal habits who could one day.If you can master those things, your opportunities are limitless. But you have to start with yourself.
